Team Parent Overview

The main purpose of the Team Parent is to facilitate communication and coordination of activities between West Seattle Little League (WSLL), parents and the team manager (head coach). The goal is to help keep the team manager and coaches focused on the players, making sure they are ready to play.

How to Volunteer as Team Parent

To become a Team Parent volunteer, please adhere to the following instructions. Once your team manager has been officially confirmed, reach out to them to convey your interest in taking on the role of Team Parent for your team.

How to Sign up to Volunteer
1. Login to your existing account or Register a new account
2. Click the "Volunteer" section of your account
3. Click "Find Volunteer Roles"
4. Select the role(s) that you are interested in
5. Follow the on-screen instructions and complete the registration form

All volunteers for WSLL, including Team Parents, are required to complete an official background check. When you register for a volunteer role, an email with background check details will be sent to all volunteers prior to the start of the season.

TEAM PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Typically, the assigned Team Parent assumes responsibility for the following tasks, with specific requirements varying across divisions.

- Distribute player uniforms, including jerseys, pants, belts, hats, and socks, and keep a record of items distributed to each player.
- Collect uniforms and ensure they’re clean and returned at the end of the season (as applicable based on division)
- Ensure that all families have completed the Medical Release Form for their players and submit the completed forms to the coach.
- Disseminate information regarding league activities and schedules, including but not limited to:
- Field Maintenance Days
- Jamboree details
- Team photo day schedule
- End-of-season activities
- Mariner’s Little League Days ticket sales
- Coordinate volunteers for various tasks, including:
- Team game day volunteers (as applicable based on division)
- Snack Shack volunteers (as applicable based on division)
- Other league special events
