March 15 & 16: Umpire clinic

Calling all umpires! Parent and Junior volunteers are welcome! Our Junior Program (13-18 years of age) is a great opportunity for volunteer hours.

Volunteer umpires are needed at the upper divisions to referee games, and is probably the most important league role next to team manager. Umpires are responsible for ensuring the fairness and safety of our games. Our non-competitive divisions (Tee Ball and Coach Pitch) do not require umpires since the games are not scored.

Training is required for all umpires and are encouraged to attend one or both clinics.

March 15th 9am - noon, Rainier Playfield, 3700 S Alaska St. Seattle
March 16th 9am - noon, Bar-S Playfields, 6425 Admiral Way SW Seattle
The clinic will start PROMPTLY at 9:00am. It is recommended to arrive 15 - 30 minutes earlier for checking in, stretching, and introductions to staff.

Please dress athletically and for the weather (it is typically pretty cold). There will be field drills covering positioning, rules, and game management skills.

These events will be hosted by District 7 umpire staff headed by David Gearhard District 7 Umpire in Chief.
